Paver sealing

How often should pavers be sealed in Florida?

We recommend resealing about every 18 months. That keeps your pavers looking new for a fraction of the cost. The sealer itself lasts 3 to 5 years.

How much does paver sealing cost?

Most residential paver sealing projects fall between $1,200 and $3,000. Your price depends on square footage, the condition of the pavers and whether old sealer has to be removed first. Estimates are free. For a quick range, try our instant estimate, and we confirm the exact price after a free on-site inspection.

How is your sealing process different?

We use a 2-day process. Day 1 we remove any old sealer and deep clean. Day 2 we fill and stabilize the joints with joint sand and apply a flood coat of Trident sealer. Doing it over two days lets the pavers dry before they are sealed, which is what keeps sealer from turning white or cloudy.

What sealer do you use?

Trident sealers only. Our main sealer is Trident Hurricane Cat 5, which gives strong color enhancement. We also offer Cat 4 for a lighter enhancement and Cyclone for a natural matte look.

What is a Trident Certified Master Technician?

It is Trident's certification for contractors who have completed their training courses (Introduction to Sealing, Intensive Training and Advanced Training), had sealing jobs verified, and use Trident sealers. You can confirm our certification with Trident at 866-951-4293.

Why did my old sealer turn white or cloudy, and can you fix it?

That is usually moisture trapped under a sealer that was put down too soon or with the wrong product. Sealing over it does not fix it. We remove the failed sealer with Trident Tidal Wave, clean out what is left, deep clean, and reseal with a breathable Trident sealer.

How long do I need to stay off freshly sealed pavers?

You can walk on them after 6 to 8 hours and put plants and furniture back after 24 hours. You can drive on them after 48 hours in summer and 72 hours in winter.

Do you seal pool decks?

Yes. The Trident sealers we use are made to hold up to chlorine and help with slip resistance. See pool deck sealing.

Is there a warranty on paver sealing?

Our paver sealing comes with a warranty, and the length depends on the sealing package you choose. We'll go over the options with you in person.

Joint sand

What does joint sand do?

The sand between pavers locks them together. When it washes out, pavers shift and weeds and ants move in. We refill the joints and the flood coat of sealer soaks into the sand and hardens it in place.

What joint sand colors do you offer?

Six: Pearl, Tan, Gray, Fieldstone, Platinum and Black. We match the color to your pavers.

My joint sand keeps washing out. What should I do?

That usually means the joints need to be refilled and sealed.

Paver removal, replacement and repair

What paver problems do you fix?

Loose or shifting pavers, broken or cracked pavers, sunken or uneven areas, missing pavers, spots where water pools, and pavers lifted by tree roots, on driveways, patios, walkways and pool decks. See paver repair.

Do you remove and replace damaged pavers?

Yes. We take out the loose, broken or sunken pavers, being careful with the ones around them, and check the base underneath. We regrade and compact the base, set matching replacement pavers level with the rest, then fill the joints with polymeric sand and compact the area.

Can you match my existing pavers?

We source matching pavers so the repair blends in with the rest of your installation.

How do you fix sunken pavers?

We lift the pavers in the low area, regrade and compact the base so it drains properly, reset the pavers level, and finish with polymeric sand and compaction.

Is repairing cheaper than replacing the whole patio or driveway?

Usually, yes. Fixing the damaged section costs far less than tearing out and reinstalling the whole area, and catching it early stops the problem from spreading.

How much does paver repair cost?

We give you a price before we start.

Should I repair before sealing?

Yes. Sealing locks in whatever is there, so we fix sunken, loose or broken areas first and seal after.

Epoxy floors

What epoxy floor system do you install?

The Nautilus epoxy and poly flake floor system: a moisture-mitigating epoxy base coat with decorative flakes and a polyaspartic topcoat, installed over two days. See epoxy and poly flake floors.

Why two days instead of a one-day floor?

Many one-day systems use a thin, fast-curing base coat. We use a thicker epoxy base for adhesion and build, and protect it with the polyaspartic topcoat. It takes longer and that is the point.

How soon can I walk on it and park on it?

Light foot traffic within 12 to 24 hours, depending on the weather, and full vehicle traffic within 48 to 72 hours.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, a Limited Lifetime Warranty on poly and epoxy flake floors for defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use. It is non-transferable by default and does not cover things like slab cracking or movement, moisture problems beyond accepted limits, or chemical and impact damage. Full terms are on our warranty page.

What about cracks in my garage slab?

Slab cracking and movement are not covered under the floor warranty.

How much does an epoxy garage floor cost?

We price each epoxy floor after we see the slab, because site conditions are a big factor.
